Franklin Street on a Rainy Fall Day, The Burg

Franklin Street on a Rainy Fall Day, The Burg

Franklin Street at Ashmore Avenue. You can see
Rossi's in the distance. Rain in the Burg helped
all those magnificent gardens grow. With all those
Tomatos ( I hated weeding around the tomatos), and
that grapevine, and carrots, and tarrigon and more:)

Hi Mack: I lived on Franklin St. for about 4 years. My mother and sister lived there for many years later. We were near Roebling Ave. when Hewitt School was still on the corner. I would need a whole page just to list all the places I lived in Chambersburg, Villa Park and Mercerville. Combine that with all the areas I delivered mail to and I think it would cover the whole city. Best regards.

I remember when that house on the corner was a store! I think it was called Frank's in the late 70's.
And we used to play wiffle ball in front of the garage that sat along the alley between Ashmore & Morris...pitching from the Middle of Franklin St...and hitting towards Chambers.
