Where The Park Theatre Once Was, The Burg

Where The Park Theatre Once Was, The Burg
The Intersection of Anderson Street and Washington Street
Form a Triangle where the Park Theatre Once Was.
The Old Theatre Building was her in my Burg day but I
do not know what it was used for. My Dad Ed MacNicoll
told me it was sold or donated to the City of Trenton a
few years ago and was torn down to make the little park
area that is there now.

Park Theater. Bring your own sandwich and watch Rocket
Man series every Saturday. $.10 and collect a dish or
glass every week.

My Dad Ed MacNicoll adds:

This old structure that was the movie belong to Mike
Andrews new wife's family. The building was shot.
There was a small section of a park there already at the
point. I did an appraisal for Mike and the only real buyer
would have been the City. I went to this movie as a kid and
the last film I saw there, I think was "Meet me in St Louis"

Hi Mack: There again you are in my old school neighborhood. For 6 years in my youth, I was around there nearly every day. The Park and the Bijoe were two theatres where you walk in by the screen. A little different than the other theatres. Charles and Conrad are 2 short streets also in that area of the Burg that we seldom mention. Some people that I knew in that neighborhood were, commissioner Arthur Bray, ball players Charlie Budd, George Hackney and Father Fred Sorrento, who taught at Trenton Catholic. His brother Joe also played with Art Holland and me on the Southards baseball team in the 30s. Best regards.
