A Blog about the Chambersburg area of Trenton NJ. The Burg we all loved and miss. If you were from the Burg I hope many of the pictures and lists and comments under them from good folks bring back some nice memories. Villa Park, Franklin Park, South Trenton, and nearby Hamilton also mentioned. Use the search box atop the blog to find schools, churches, streets, stores, bars etc that you remember. Over 4000 posts and 3000 pics. Enjoy:)

State and Broad Streets, 1952, Downtown Trenton
State and Broad Streets, 1952, Downtown Trenton This is before my time but for all the Burg area folks that remember this, enjoy:)
Hi Mack: That may have been my post office truck parked near the corner of State and Broad. In 1952 I was delivering parcel post down town and finding parking space was a big problem. The cops were very cooperative and allowed us to park anywhere we could. Those old post office trucks were really ancient. Once again Happy New Year.
Hi Jan:) The reason Mister Peanut is not in this picture is it was taken on North Broad toward South Broad Street. The Peaunut place was 3 North Broad Street.. right here but barely out of the picture:)
To Ralph - My father, Harry Skilton, was a Trenton cop and often directed traffic at either State & Broad or State & Warren during that time. Hope he didn't give you any trouble :)
