State and Broad Streets, 1952, Downtown Trenton

  1. Hi Mack: That may have been my post office truck parked near the corner of State and Broad. In 1952 I was delivering parcel post down town and finding parking space was a big problem. The cops were very cooperative and allowed us to park anywhere we could. Those old post office trucks were really ancient. Once again Happy New Year.

  6. Hi Jan:)
The reason Mister Peanut is not
in this picture is it was taken
on North Broad toward South Broad
Street. The Peaunut place was 3
North Broad Street.. right here but
    barely out of the picture:)

  7. To Ralph - My father, Harry Skilton, was a Trenton cop and often directed traffic at either State & Broad or State & Warren during that time. Hope he didn't give you any trouble :)
