A Blog about the Chambersburg area of Trenton NJ. The Burg we all loved and miss. If you were from the Burg I hope many of the pictures and lists and comments under them from good folks bring back some nice memories. Villa Park, Franklin Park, South Trenton, and nearby Hamilton also mentioned. Use the search box atop the blog to find schools, churches, streets, stores, bars etc that you remember. Over 4000 posts and 3000 pics. Enjoy:)

Hi Mack: That may have been my post office truck parked near the corner of State and Broad. In 1952 I was delivering parcel post down town and finding parking space was a big problem. The cops were very cooperative and allowed us to park anywhere we could. Those old post office trucks were really ancient. Once again Happy New Year.
hey mack, this is the same pic as the one you posted on 11/30. but, this one has a wider field of view...more stuff is visible...good find!!!
Wow! What a great picture Mack. This was the old Trenton I will always remember.
This picture I found on
website TRENTON SPEAKS
and whoever posted it on
that site did a great job
and I Thank Them:)
Great photo Mack.
"Stat and Broad".. my Dad ,Rocky DiNatale would always say "you can kiss my a@# (butt) on State and Broad" It had a colorful vocabulary.
where is Mr. Peanut?
Hi Jan:)
The reason Mister Peanut is not
in this picture is it was taken
on North Broad toward South Broad
Street. The Peaunut place was 3
North Broad Street.. right here but
barely out of the picture:)
To Ralph - My father, Harry Skilton, was a Trenton cop and often directed traffic at either State & Broad or State & Warren during that time. Hope he didn't give you any trouble :)
