The Porch in The Burg

The Porch was an important part of life in the Burg. When the weather
was nice folks would be out on the porch around and after supper
until something was on TV at 8 or 9. Folks sitting around sipping
espresso and solving the worlds problems or just shooting the breeze.
Remember?

This looks more like Clay St in Mill Hill

Hi Bob. Yes this is Clay Street.
I just wanted a good Porch picture and this was the best looking one on the net. Its here j to llustrate the point of the post:)
If this were a Burg street I would
have specifically identified it and the title of the post would be
A Porch in the Burg instead of
THE Porch in the Burg:)

I worked in Mill Hill for a bit
long ago and remember Mill Hill
Park with the little creek,
Joe's Mill Hill Saloon which had
pitchers of michelob and good
Burgers and Jazz, and Felix's
Deli which had great hoagies and
nice folks behind the counter..
Oh and the outdoor Newspaper stand
near the bank:)
Part of Mill Hill's Historic looking lights amd sidewalks were
built by the city upon approval
of the Landmarks Commission which
my Dad Ed MacNicoll served on
under Mayor Holland:)

That outdoor news stand was run by a Tony Calu for many years. The bank was the Trenton Trust, Mercer Branch.
