A Blog about the Chambersburg area of Trenton NJ. The Burg we all loved and miss. If you were from the Burg I hope many of the pictures and lists and comments under them from good folks bring back some nice memories. Villa Park, Franklin Park, South Trenton, and nearby Hamilton also mentioned. Use the search box atop the blog to find schools, churches, streets, stores, bars etc that you remember. Over 4000 posts and 3000 pics. Enjoy:)

Hi Mack: Bonanni's is the only store my father would buy meat from. Libro Bonanni was one sharp butcher and store operator. He also had a frozen food business on Mifflin St., if I remember correctly. Sundays were the only time my father would cook and during the better days, he would grill steaks over our kitchen coal stove. For someone without a formal educatiion, he was very smart about many things. Merry Xmas.
Hi Ralph:)
Bonanni Foods Inc was on 15
Mifflin Street.. you are correct:)
Libro Bonanni lived at 927
Lyndale Avenue in the 50s.
Peter & Remo Bonanni had this
place at 301 Morris:)
It's me again Mack: I'm talking about the 30s and 40s. Libro, I believe, was one of the sons of Bonanni and sons. I may be wrong but I believe Libro took over and expanded the business to include the operation on Mifflin St. I say this because I recall my father telling us about how good Bonanni's was. Libro was a friend and visited us while we were in Florida. Merry Xmas.
