According to a NY Times October 6, 1936, Trenton High's
quarter mile track was built as a WPA Project.
I just look at that track and hear the distant call from
years ago "gimmie 4 laps".
Some folks around here used to call a crazy person a
Bedbug. Folks also used the expressions Holy Mackeral
and You are Full of Baloney or Son of a Bubblefish.
A kid who went to play with other kids instead of you
might be called a "flat leaver". Bars could be a Gin Mill
or Dive or Hole in The Wall.
Broad Street Record Center gave you a card when you bought
a 45 RPM record and when you got it punched 10 times you
got a free 45 RPM record. I don't know if they did this
with Albums because by the time I was buying albums I
shopped at many diffent places, often Toms Record Shop
on South Clinton Avenue.
