340 Hamilton Avenue, The Burg

340 Hamilton Avenue, The Burg
The Brenna Funeral Home in the 50s as it is now.
A cool looking old building:)

SteveB adds:

If any of you folks are fans of Janet Evanovich (I just finished her 15th and latest book today) she uses this bulding as a funeral home in her stories, if you read the description and location, it can't be anything else.

just a little other point, I met Janet and developed sort of a friendship with her, to the point that she has used my last name for characters in at least 3 or 4 of her books.. she and my dad were born in the same town, South River, NJ, that's how we started out, met her at a book signing at Waterfront Park, she is a sweet lady... and do you know that she is the person who donated the horses to the Trenton Police Dept.

My mother, Joan Kelly Sagedy, grew up directly behind Brenna's on Tyler Street and was best friends with Eileen Brenna when they were girls. My mom loves to tell the stories about laying at the top of the steps laughing like Hades at the old Italian ladies wailing and using smelling salts. Priceless Trenton memories...
