This is an old building, dating back to the unincorporated Chambersburg days.

In 1900 the building housed a butcher shop owned by Frank Ketterer. In 1920, the site was a grocery owned by Sam Wolkowitz.

This was a different style building from the newer ones built in the early 1900s (unlike the row house in which our family lived across the street).

The building which housed Anthony's Steak House may even be earlier. That building was a grocery 1881, owned by Joseph Hamer. (Source: Mill Hill Directories).

Nickels, baby! Nickels! I won a pile of them! Lost a few, too.

Those machines were soooo sensitive, but I could always bet the 23, 24, 25 combo for a three in a row.
