Mack:
I remember Chico's on S Broad St across the street from your picture. I don't remember him being that close to Roeblings. His family came front Elmer St. The name was chiacchio, like the Hudson Beer Garden.

I'm with Joe B. In this image, you can se Marsh's Hobby Shop just past the Getty Station.

As far back as I can remember, Chico's was across the street. I think it was directly across from the Getty (Cottrell's ?) filling station.

We had a "bad boy" on the block named Tucker Frederick (not 100% sure of the name) that had a Harley with full regalia that came from Chico's. He parked it behind his girlfriend's father's Studebaker on Hagerty alley. Hadda be around 51 - 52 or so.

BTW, my Dad had a '48 Indian. ;-)

I am sure all of your memories
are correct. This means Chico's
moved a few times.
He was 1062 South Broad in the
1950s and 1960s according to my
records.. ie across the street
as you recall:)
This was his last Burg location before he moved out of Trenton
and is where he was in my Burg day:)

I maybe wrong guys about Chico's, there was a motorcycle place heading towards down town on Broad St. Once you crossed over the tracks past Apex, further down Broad St. on the left hand side, it was a Harley place.

Mack, There may a little confusion here regarding Chico's Harley Davidson. The business on the left side of Broad, past the railroad tracks going toward town, was a Schwinn bicycle dealer. My parents purchased my Schwinn Hornet there. We used to stop and pick up parts, when we were overhauling our bikes. The family who owned the business were either Italian or Spanish. Maybe someone remembers the name of the business. This was during the ealy fifties.
Chico's was across from the gas station near where you took the photo. Again, this was a house converted to a business. You had to go up steps, like a front porch. The building was narrow. There were always some Harleys parked out in front, and down the side of the building. There were garages in the back, where repair work was done. Inside the store were shelves of parts, riding clothes (black leather) boots, caps with Harley insignia, accessories and more. We used to go in and pick up the latest sales brochures and admire the cool stuff inside. The bikes were super in those days, with saddle bags, lots of chrome and lights, streamers and foxtails, windshields. Always wanted one, but never got one.
