Jimmie DeLorenzo:)
Owner of Jimmies Camera Shop on Hudson Street.
Jimmie has recently passed on and this blog says God
bless his family and friends and God Bless the Burg.
A Blog about the Chambersburg area of Trenton NJ. The Burg we all loved and miss. If you were from the Burg I hope many of the pictures and lists and comments under them from good folks bring back some nice memories. Villa Park, Franklin Park, South Trenton, and nearby Hamilton also mentioned. Use the search box atop the blog to find schools, churches, streets, stores, bars etc that you remember. Over 4000 posts and 3000 pics. Enjoy:)

Dad and I went to Jimmy's camera shop often, when I was little, as Dad was a camera nut. After mom and dad were gone, we always looked foreward to seeing Jimmy at DeLorenzo's on Hamilton. He would stop by each table and and chat, making everybody feel like family. He was always so beautifully dressed and welcoming to all who came in. He was truly a sweet and gentle man. God bless him and rest his soul.
An Icon!
I still have three cameras bought at Jimmie's when he was in 512 1/2 Hudson St. There are two Nikons that I bought, and one Honeywell Pentax that my Dad bought, way back when. And there were the lenses and attachments.
Jimmie's was one of those places where you could stop-in when it was really cold, on your way home from THS. Nice thing was, you could even learn things in there.
I haven't seen Jimmie since I left the area, but I really enjoyed him. Sorry he's passed on, but at least I can say a prayer for Jimmie and his family.
Jimmie, you're up thee with my Mom and Dad. Why don't you sell them a new digital camera?
I'll buy.
I went with my Dad to buy our first 8mm camera from Jimmie. I remember him being a nice man with a great smile. Talk about a mental kodak moment.
