If you were from the Burg I hope many of the pictures and lists and comments under them from good folks bring back some nice memories. Villa Park, Franklin Park, South Trenton, and nearby Hamilton also mentioned. Use the search box atop the blog to find schools, churches, streets, stores, bars etc that you remember. Over 4000 posts and 3000 pics. Enjoy:)

I don't recall the name of the place, but when I was a kid, it was an appliance store, WTTM used to broadcast from there once a week and they would have movie stars who were playing in New Hope there as guests on the broadcast, I got a few autographs, old timers, William Bendix, Joan Bennet, Dana Andrews... too bad I didnt realize that things like that would have possible value years later, I have no idea what happend to my autograph book,
Years ago this was the Victory Movie Theatre.
Steve,
There were "big deals" outside this place from time to time, possibly for the appliance store.
When I was a tyke, we walked over on several occasion because of the kleig lights. First time I saw these out of my back window they scared the cr@p out of me. Projected onto the bottoms of low clouds, I thought for sure these were flying saucers!
SJB. well buddy, around Genesee and Clinton, they very well might have been flying saucers or just high Hungarians :-)
the used to be the salvation army store in 70s-90s(?). i also remember it as a laundromat in the early-mid 70s.
