1087 South Clinton Avenue, The Burg.
Once this was Scott's Beauty Shop in the 1960s.
This was Tom's Record Shop in my Burg day.
They sold used records and some imports from Britain
which was very cool for us folks who liked some
of the more obscure metal and punk bands.
The Princeton Record Exchange on Tulane Street in Princeton
was the most amazing place for imports and used records
in the area. But Toms was the best in the Burg.
Toms had the record bins where all the albums were in
order and often had a plastic cover over them and were
in good condition. Then they had the albums on the floor
which were an unorganized grab bag of items, but which
were cheap.like 99 cents. It was like a treasure hunt for
me as I liked all kinds of music from many eras..
I can still remember Harvey the man behind the counter
saying "Its here somewhere" when asked if they had so and
so's album:)

Tom' Record Store that was a great record shop, maybe the best Trenton's ever had.
I think he changed the name to The Record Collector and moved the store to South Broad Street in the late 1970's. Then again the store was move to Lalor street, located directly across from Junior Four in the 80's.
I think The Record Collector these days is still in business, located down in Bordentown.
As a kid, I bought alot of great Beatle albums out of that place.
Hi Al:)
Yes I agree about Toms it was
great. Cheap used LPs and 45s.
I got all my classic rock and punk
and metal from here. Remember Harvey behind the counter. Crew
