My parents owned this store in the mid - late 40's. I'm looking for some pics of the store front to share.

One thing I do remember there was a big Breyer's Ice Cream sign that hung off the corner of the store. Inside there was a soda fountain that ran along the right side of the store..a small candy case and counter before it...candy case always filled with penny candy. On the opposite side was the magazine wall racks. And my mom told me that when we owned it there was a pinball machine in the back left corner. Behind the soda fountain where steps that led up into the house. A small, compact place but a great neighborhood center-piece!

Sax, you described it to a tee. That candy case was always filled. Carl made the best vanilla milk shake ever. Ice cold.

My favorite was Blend...ice cold lemon/lime drink...and of course, sneaking a peek at the "men's magazines" on the rack...that's when I feel in love with Kim Novak!!
