A Blog about the Chambersburg area of Trenton NJ. The Burg we all loved and miss. If you were from the Burg I hope many of the pictures and lists and comments under them from good folks bring back some nice memories. Villa Park, Franklin Park, South Trenton, and nearby Hamilton also mentioned. Use the search box atop the blog to find schools, churches, streets, stores, bars etc that you remember. Over 4000 posts and 3000 pics. Enjoy:)

The best and largest steak sandwiches during the 50's and 60's.
This was always referred to by
everyone in the Burg as "The Hudson".
I didn't eat here much. It was just a bit before my time. When my time came, however, I loved the tomato pie and beers of The Hudson. My geology classes at Rider College used to frequent this place after trips into the field. Just call it "team building".
This place was a Friday night tradition for my husband, his sister and his parents in the 60s.
The Hudson Beer Garden had the best foot long cheese steaks in the city. We were still minors and couldn't buy beer, but they had tremendous Birch Beer on tap. You could buy a quart, to take out, that came in a round cardboard container. Great place!
