My grandfather was an elder and was instrumental in building this church way back when. I was baptized, made 1st communion and buried both parents out of this church. These older churches are beautiful. You just don't see them being built like this anymore.

I so agree Bob.
I was at this Church for a funeral
last year and it is also stunningly
beautiful on the inside.

One of my dad's rituals on Good Friday was to load the young members of the family in his Country Squire Station Wagon and take us around to visit a few of the churches in Trenton. St. Mary's on Adeline was one of those we routinely visited during this tour. Immaculate, St. Anthony's Sacred Heart, Holy Angels and the Cathedral of St. Mary's were the other stops.

I remember when I was an altar boy at St. Hedwig's during Holy Week, the ceremony on Holy Thursday with the washing of the feet, the mass and the processions. Good Friday we each had to do an hour of adoration at the altar. Holy Saturday the blessing of the food baskets in church and of course the Resurection Mass at 6:00 on Easter Sunday. Those are great memories of Easter that I have.
