This place was a fascinating stop on the way home from Junior Four.

After "finding" donuts at Pryor's, I always liked to stop and look into the windows and open doors of this place.

Merlo's use hot metal linotype presses. The machines melted an ingot of lead alloy which formed lines of type used to make newspaper.

I'm a geek. I just love complex machines like those used here.

SJ I was a geek too. used to
find old radios and try to fix them
often with success. Fixed TVS when
they had tubes..my Telegraph won
1st prize for me in science class
in school one year (and same telegraph won my brother 1st prize
a few years later!!! :)
Quite often folks threw away nice radios that only needed a new wire
to the batteries.
