That store front 819 Chestnut, was my grandfather's shoe repair shop. U.F.Rago and son. Then It was a hair salon. Then Sweet Creations Candy store. My grandmother Teresa Rago was a seamstress in the back. Making dresses for all the women in the Burg. She lived to be 104! God bless her!

Aurelia Rago was my grandmother, married to Antonio. Eugene was my uncle.
We lived at 44 Anderson Street until my mothers death. She was Genevieve Rago. I had many uncles and aunts. I remember the shoe store and Massa's 5 & 10 down the street. Owned by Frances Rago Massa. Many good memories from the Burg. I could go on forever. Try to find some pictures.

Hi there Noel & Pat:)
If you go to the top of this
blog where the Search Blog
feature is and type in
ANDERSON, among the posts that
will pop up is one titled
Anderson Street Brick Rows.
I think your house is in that pic
or at least a part of it is.
What a cool place to live!
Casino right there. Trenton High
nearby. All the stores on Hamilton
Avenue:) Barbero Bakery :)
I passed by those homes thousands
of times back in my Burg day:)
3 story brick rows:)

Its such as you read my mind! You appear to know so
much about this, like you wrote the guide
in it or something. I think that you just could do
with a few p.c. to power the message home a little bit,
but instead of that, that is wonderful blog. A fantastic read.

I'll definitely be back.
