A Blog about the Chambersburg area of Trenton NJ. The Burg we all loved and miss. If you were from the Burg I hope many of the pictures and lists and comments under them from good folks bring back some nice memories. Villa Park, Franklin Park, South Trenton, and nearby Hamilton also mentioned. Use the search box atop the blog to find schools, churches, streets, stores, bars etc that you remember. Over 4000 posts and 3000 pics. Enjoy:)

THS Senior Prom after the prom place June 1961. Got the picture if anyone is interested in seeing a "young Saxman"!!! Entertainment was Rowan & Martin...you remember..right Pass?
Saxman is absolutely correct. That was the spot!
A great club it was. I saw Ray Charles there more than once.
Was it LaMaina's(?) that was not too far away? Not a cabaret club, but a super night club with plenty of action and big names.
IIRC, I saw the Temptations play a club gig there. Smoking! I was just trying to remember if I had turned 21. ;-)
I was here for my 21st...saw Sammy Davis, Jr-the man was a genius. It was my first, street-legal drink, after many that weren't.
SJBill, are you thinking about the Rickshaw Inn? The home of everybody that was anybody in the Philly mob.
Barb, thx for the Rickshaw Inn. I do remember taking someone there for a very special something who later became a Dept. of Agriculture figure. Then there was the Geisha Room at the Hawaiian Cottage, for another spot.
It was pretty amazing that most everybody else showed up in Cadillacs at these places.
Philly had mob types? Whoonoo?
Rosemary and I went there once when we were dating, saw Teddy Pendergrass, he put on a great show. Is the Valley Forge Music Fair still open?
The Latin and the Rickshaw and the Hawaiin Cottage...great places and yes, many Caddies and Lincolns outside..but the place to go if you were "in" or "made" was the Charles Lounge...played many a gig there and was "sworn to secrecy"!!
I knew you folks would have some good comments on this item and you came through again:)
My Ma & Dad saw Tom Jones here sometime in the 70s.
Whenever it came to "our friends
with cadillacs"
I had the Burg attitude ..
There are things that don't concern
me:)) !!!
OH YES, We went there after the THS prom 1962.
Bob R,
Didn't you take Cathy, don't recall last name, to the 1962 prom? I know we doubled to either your junior or senior prom. Help me out here.
