A 70s 26 Inch TV

A 70s 26 Inch TV. Many Burg houses had these back
in the day.
NOTE: Dad reading the newspaper after work in the
chair after taking off his shoes near this item
was often included:)

My dad worked at Whitey's on South Clinton in the late 40's early 50's..he brought home the first TV in the neighborhood, a 13" black&white with a full magnifier screen cover. Neighbors came over to watch Milton Berle's Texaco Hour..(makeup???)

Back in the day, you had to be on **very good** terms with a TV repairman. Remember all the test equipmant and pattern generators they needed to keep teh image from rolling or stretching like forever.

Whitey's! Just a few doors from Chambersburg Community House.

The great folks in there (your dad included) taught me the beginnings of electronics.

Guess it's a trophy store now.
