I lived for almost 10 years about a block away.. at 619 Greenwood Ave & Hanford Place... the big red brick house on the corner.. loved it until they started dropping drugs for pick up in my bushes, had the Trenton Narc unit hidden on my enclosed front porch watchin all the action.. just like live TV.. after I was broken in 3 times and having back surgery, decided it was time to go..moved into an apartment at 777 W State St, Mary Roebling was my neighbor, a dear sweet lady, then the neighborhood there started to go down hill real fast, so after living there for 18 years and getting tired of gunfights on the street I moved to Burlington County, Eastampton.. was so nice and quiet that on my first night there and sitting on my patio, seeing a million stars in the sky and hearing nothing but crickets and bunny farts I actually cried.. I am emotional... God forbid I should run into a super market opening.... LOL

I have been to Eastampton many
times over the years in my job.
Nice area. Westhampton, Southampton, Mount Holly nearby.
Rt 38 Rt 206 Rt 541 :)

In my Burg day anything north of
Hamilton Avenue was considered unsafe at night on the Burg border.
This was distinctly different from
the very safe and very clean Burg
streets near us which stayed nice
really until the middle to late
90s.

SteveB...We left Hewitt St for the same reason. Tired of fights and getting peoples welfare checks in our mail. Moved to No Hanover in Burlington in 1977, used to sleep with a radio earphone in my ear to have enough noise to get to sleep. The silence was scarey. I'm in Easthampton at least once a week with my job and I stop at Old World Bakery every time.
