300 William Street, Franklin Park

300 William Street, Franklin Park.
A cool looking old house:)
When I used to see older detached homes like this
I imagined they were here before the rowhouses and
semis were built. Thats not really true. Some were
and some were not. This is across the street from
Franklin School. When we played kickball in the
schoolyard here I used to say I was gonna kick
the ball over this house:)
Franklin O Franklin we love thy famous name...as
the school sang began:)

Sure does look like a farm house out New Egypt way, doesn't it?

This was Ginger Erhi's (spelling?) house, when we were kids. Very lovely inside and out.
SJBill...you know about New Egypt? Most Trenton people never heard of it. I'm in North Hanover now.

I have family that still lives on Millstream Rd. on a farm that used to have a U-Pick peaches.

Back in the day, when there was still the Pemberton and Hightstown Railroad, we had family living in the home west of the crossing on the Mt. Holly Freehold Road. Their home was very small and very simple. Our family elders lived to be in their late 90s. They left the 'Burg in the early 1900s to begin farming on the near free land.

Isn't North Hanover where Carlo Rossi's Satellite Club used to be?

SJBill...Satellite is in New Hanover (Cookstown), North Hanover is next to Chesterfield. Satellite building is still there, in a very bad state of disrepair...been that way for years. A developer bought the building and grounds to build a development, put up 3 houses and went broke...building is ready to fall down.
I'm not far off Mt. Holly-Freehold Rd (Rt 537) and our son has a 2nd job at the IGA in New Egypt. Figured this was as far away from Trenton as we could get, once things went bad.

Ahhh, the Satellite Lounge..the place to be...the band I was with at the time, Peter's Surprize a/k/a Peter's Precious Soul..was the "house band" for a few years..fronted for a lot of top-name entertainers they brought in. Also where regulars at the Pig'n'Whistle..great bar-room brawls in that place! Ah, the good times!!

Sax...I also remember Bobby Hartnagle and the Monkey Men, house band for a few years.
I actually got caught in a bar brawl at Pig n' Whistle, luckily somebody picked me up and threw me out the opened front door into the parking lot. Amazingly, a very similar thing happened at a club in Newportville, PA, listening to Curiosity Shop and the Breed came in. I was really lucky then, because I was only 17.
Sax, do you remember the name of this place? It was on a point off Rt 13.

The only club I remember that had "potential" for "friendly discussion" was the Croydon Tavern..a little south of Newportville...played there with Surprize often. Monkeymen often played the 500 Club on Hudson. We did a great Summer gig with them in Margate at the Gabel's...I think I remember it!!!:)
