Yousta be a traffic circle. I have no idea what you call it now (looking at Googgle Maps).
It was a straight through trip on S. Clinton across the steel bridge to the Pennsy RR station. I think a small circle was added at that intersection, and a bridge over "the tracks" to the Freeway in the early 50s. There was a bigger circle before you got to the Freeway.
Looks like all that has been "fixed". ;-)

I think it was called the
Greenwood Circle and the 2nd circle was called the Barlow Street
Circle:)
Swazey (?) Funeral home was the large house next to the corner with the turret. The Lindburg baby was autopsied there. Back in the day, funeral directors did the autopsy, they called in my uncle Dr. Kondor, as they wanted a Dr present. They were beautiful homes back in the 1950-60's. When I was in grammar school, we used to say "when I get married, I'm going to live on Greenwood Ave".

Just over, or before, the RR bridge was a tavern on the right-hand side - great after-hours club for musicians. Pass - any thoughts??
Sax, was that the old Stagecoach Bar? It was almost across from the train station.
Nope, not the one....this bar was between the RR bridge and the Greenwood circle on the right..after the gas station and cab stand. Not one of the places you would frequent...no tomatoe pies!!!:)
I frequented Fantasy Lounge (great R&B), Klotz's Beverage Emporium (best juke box around), Henderson Club 50 (everybody was 10 years oder than me), Philly's Uptown Theater (up and commers) and other R&B, and Jazz Clubs, that I shouldn't have been in, in my day...none had Tomato Pie, but great ribs at Klotz's and Speckle Reds. Is this the bar that had all the telephones on the outside of it for the Cab's?

OT: Anybody ever fo to "Ted's" before that district was erased? Ted's was a great R&B club, down the end of Market St. before urban renewal/removal.
Ted's was another "after-hours" bar for musicians...for drinkin' and jammin'!! Good times at Ted's.
Sax...didn't Buddy Taweel tend bar at Teds?

Fake ID and good makeup job got me into most places from the time I was 16. Now and I can't put on enough make up to do the job. Goin' to invest in a hawk and trowel. Lots of good nitelife hidden away in Trenton, back in the day.
