The Park in Villa Park:)
This is between two streets one of which is
Lyndale Avenue I believe:)
A Blog about the Chambersburg area of Trenton NJ. The Burg we all loved and miss. If you were from the Burg I hope many of the pictures and lists and comments under them from good folks bring back some nice memories. Villa Park, Franklin Park, South Trenton, and nearby Hamilton also mentioned. Use the search box atop the blog to find schools, churches, streets, stores, bars etc that you remember. Over 4000 posts and 3000 pics. Enjoy:)

Facing the park, Fairmount Avenue is on your left and Lyndale on your right. Hamilton Avenue is a stone's throw behind you. I spent many a day playing in and walking through Villa Park. For a few short years in the 60s, the city would flood the tennis courts to allow ice skating. Would park on Fairmount or Lyndale when going to DeLorenzo's on Hamilton.
Stephen...still park on Fairmount when I go to DeLorenzos. It's just a faster walk now, so you don't get mugged. There used to be something for everybody at the park...little kiddie rides, tennis, baseball, benches to sit on and enjoy the day or evening. My grandmom and later my parents lived at 903 Quinton.
After I was married in "65" I lived on Melrose Ave,it was just around the cornor from the park. It was really a very nice place to live in the city. There was a deli across from the park. I think the name was Zoda's. We would walk to DeLorenzo's didn't need to worry about a parking place.
dvk136.....In January Mack posted a photo of Rebecca's Deli at the corner of Lyndale and Centennial (http://mackstruckofwisdom.blogspot.com/2009/01/865-lyndale-avenue-villa-park.html). I had an aunt and her family (Loh) who lived on Melrose (1006?) and an uncle and family (Fowler) at 979 Melrose until the 1970s. We lived nearby on Revere.
