I guess the pharmacy closed sometime in the early/mid 60s. IIRC there was a Breyer's ice cream advertisement painted on the Centennial Avenue side of the building. Walked past this building thousands of times on the way to Saint Anthony's HS, Villa Park, my aunt's house and uncle house on Melrose as well as my sister's house and brother's house on Park Avenue.
Hard for me to believe that my sister Ermie and her husband, John Woodcock have lived at 1059 Melrose Ave for about 35 years...amazing because they are legal American citizens!!
