849 South Broad Street, The Burg.
Once upon a time this was the South Broad Import

Broad Street Import Store!

IIRC, this was owned by the Vozar family. I recall the name of Johnnny Vozar as being the youngest, but his father started this business.

If you are into Christmas cookies, Hungarian style, this place sold the **best** in lekvars.

Do not leave this place without a couple pounds of poppy seeds and a container of good paprika -- all from bulk.

From outside appearances, I suspect the place has not changed much in fifty years. ;-)

Always got the prune lekvar, aprocot and walnuts for the kiefli, kolbasz (not kielbasa), hungarian salami (hot and spicy) and paprikash for the chicken. Everytime I go by...never opened, don't know if they're only opened cetain days, but I miss it every time and no days open on the door. Heartbreaking!

SJBill...Been working in Burlington and Ocean Counties for the past 2 weeks. My Bank has me doing appraisals from Upper Freehold to Chatsworth.
Soon as I'm near Trenton, I'll call and stop in. If she has mail order info, I'll send it along.
