Many Burg folks went to Trenton State College in
Ewing. It was renamed The College of New Jersey.
I have added a link on the blog list for all Alumni:)
A Blog about the Chambersburg area of Trenton NJ. The Burg we all loved and miss. If you were from the Burg I hope many of the pictures and lists and comments under them from good folks bring back some nice memories. Villa Park, Franklin Park, South Trenton, and nearby Hamilton also mentioned. Use the search box atop the blog to find schools, churches, streets, stores, bars etc that you remember. Over 4000 posts and 3000 pics. Enjoy:)

The roots of this institution go directly back to the burg. Before it was Columbus Park, Chestnut Park, and Deefies, that park was site of Trenton Normal School. This institution was training school for future teachers. Across the street from park where the bank now stands, was site of the original Trenton High School.
Hey Pass...I used to get hit with the wooden spoon when I asked my mom if she went to the "Normal School" when she was growing up on Elmer St...if she said no then I'd say "then you went to the ab-Normal school, right?" She would call me a "ball-buster" and give me a tap with the spoon...OK, it was funny then..and a good memory now. Thanks for reminding me.
Saxman,
I also got routinely whacked with the wooden spoon for whatever.. Must be a burg thing!
I still have the wooden spoon!!!
Gonna' give it to my chef-son Nathan in rememberance of his grandmom, Angelina.
I think my "original" was broken over my hard Calabrese head many years ago.
