It was nice to have the Yankees, The Mets, and The Phillies
baseball games available on TV or Radio in the Burg.
While I have always been an Orioles Fan, I enjoy baseball
done right. So I often watched or listened to the local teams.
My favorite Phillies announcer team was Kalas & Ashburn.
My Favorite Mets announcer was Ralph Kiner. My favorite
Yankees announcer was The Scooter Phil Rizzuto (Holy Cow!!).
In fact part of spring and summer in the Burg was hearing
Phil Rizzuto on folks car radios in my Burg day:)

One of my favorite Phillies announcer was Byrum Saam. Before Harry and Whitey, and way before your time Mack.
sometime when they play the old yankee games on the yes channel,i just close my eyes and listen to the scooter,frank messer and bill white.remember the time scooter was reading the cue cards during the intro and said "hi everybody Im' bill white"white was laughing so hard he couldnt speak.scooter always used to crack on "dulio"the camera guy.remember when they announced the Pope died and phil says"gee that even puts a damper on a yankee win"one time the camera was focused on the full moon,phil says "theres the moon,visited by astronauts and others"others?
Bill M...I'll never forget when Rizutto told Bill White that during WW 2, he was in the Cavalry. Bill White asked him if he drove a tank and he said no he rode a donkey...and he was serious! They had to cut to a commercial.
I remember scooter saying
"Hey, the moon looks like Texas"
and they then showed that nights
moon..everyone was cracking up.
It didnt look like Texas to me but
hey if Phil thought it did, thats fine :)
