A Park on Emory Avenue in the Burg.
Called "The Park" by me but called "The Playground" by
others and I think officially called Agabiti Park.
A Blog about the Chambersburg area of Trenton NJ. The Burg we all loved and miss. If you were from the Burg I hope many of the pictures and lists and comments under them from good folks bring back some nice memories. Villa Park, Franklin Park, South Trenton, and nearby Hamilton also mentioned. Use the search box atop the blog to find schools, churches, streets, stores, bars etc that you remember. Over 4000 posts and 3000 pics. Enjoy:)

I was a summer employee of Parks and Recreation and worked there one very long summer... I think it was original site of either Washington or another area elementary school.
This was the site of the original Washington School. I started in the first grade (1935).
Wow, has that changed!!..You can see my house, but it was red brick back in the day. 111 Emory Avenue, 2 doors for the market. To us, it was the playground, not even 'park'. I remember too, the summer help and the wooden swings. I also remember the metal teeter totter (swing back and forth, not up and down)where the inside of my knee got pinched in the metal bolts that hooked the seat to the metal peice that went back and forth. Anyway, I had one huge bruise that I kept hiding from my parents..I didn't want to get yelled at..lol..
