902 Division Street, The Burg, Once Light Furniture

902 Division Street, The Burg.
Once Light Furniture long ago. I think someone
on here said the owner Benjamin Light was related
to TV Star Judith Light of Who's The Boss.

If I'm not mistaken, her father and uncle owned Light Furniture.

Barb P, this is the other Barb P and yes Judy's father and uncle owned it. There was another brother who had a Light's Furniture on Broad & Greenwood, when Greenwood still came out to Broad. Went to Trenton High with Judy.

Many of the older folks dealt with Bennie Light Furniture. They could buy items "on the books" and a representative would come by the house every Saturday to collect a dollar or two until item was paid off. Of course, we also had milkman Joe Toots and breadman who would stop by every week pick up payment for goods delivered throughout the week. Interesting to note that our doors were never locked and we just left money for them on front end table. Never a problem!

Tom...Houses unlocked, cars unlocked, milkman, laundry man, egg man money left in envelopes on the front porch. And if somebody looked suspicious, your neighbor would confront them and give them a hard time, until they knew they belonged there.

Barb P,

I went on Judith Lights' website and it said she graduated from a high school in Burlington, NJ called St. Mary's Hall. How long did she go to Trenton High?

I think Judith Light may have attended Jr. #3.

She might have gone to Jr. 3, but what about high school. The website said this high school in Burlington, NJ. Barb P. said she went to Trenton High With her.

She was in Trenton High with me in Sr. year, then her mom told my mom she was going to St Mary's Academy in Burlington. I saw her on Leno, when her show was still on TV and she brought up Trenton High. My husband went to Trenton High with Patti LaBelle and she never mentions Trenton, always says she went to school in Philly.
