Can't remember the name, but this was a used office furniture store for many years. Corner Broad and Dye. On the other corner was a metal diner, later became Harry Wellman's Gas Station.
The store front of this building on Broad and Dye was once a department store before it was an office supply business...I'm searching for the name.
The diner across the street was a train-car-type...green and yellow/gold. Apex lumber was across the street.
Bill Barber; The department store was SS Allens, my Mom and Mother in law both worked there
Thank you Bill. Soon as I heard the name it brought back good memories of my mom shopping inside and me running around through the window maze outside!
The metal diner was owned by Mrs Brusnahan. Her son owns a diner in New Egypt called Tooties (his wife's nickname). Wonder where the diner went?
It was Allen's Dept Store.
They sold Poll Parrot shoes. THey used an x-ray machine to see if the shoes fit OK.
I MET HOWDY DOODY, BUFFALO BOB AND CLARABELLE CLOWN THERE!! WHOO HOO!!!
