This I think use to be OK Bottling company, made great flavors of soda including brown cream. my kids use to walk over and watch the machines when we lived on elm st Bill Barber

Talking about bottling companies, I believe there was a Coca-Cola Bottling Company on Chestnut Avenue between Swan and Mott Street across from the school.
Joe B is right...saw it many times walking from Mass back to school. Used to sing choir at Immaculate, 7AM mass and didn't actually wake up until I was was walking from church to school. Unless I forgot my beanie and had to wear a tissue on my head...heard stereo grief from Sr Filicine Marie and Sr Georgine, that woke me up.
Ah...the old CocaCola bottling plant behind Duke Malaci's on Chestnut..
Some of us use to hop the fence and grab a couple of bottles of Coke during the Summer months. I learned how to open the caps on the rear fenders of cars...becoming sweet and sticky from the warm Coke spray. I know, BarbP..a bad-boy thing..but what the hell...all part of growing up.
OK Bottling also sold cases of seltzer water in glass siphon bottles.
The soda were great!

WG...Ronny Butko and I used to get a red wagon, find the seltzer bottles people threw out (especially after New Years) and take them back to OK for a refund. Clear bottles were 3 cents, blue and green bottles were 7 cents!! Then onto Jake's for baseball cards, a day at the Broad Theater or save it up and get a model car kit at Marshes. Sax...I learned to open 'em up on the curb, must be a Burg bad-girl thing.
