461 Genesee Street, The Burg
Harrison Elementary School:)
Took a while to find a good pic but it was worth
the wait:)
A Blog about the Chambersburg area of Trenton NJ. The Burg we all loved and miss. If you were from the Burg I hope many of the pictures and lists and comments under them from good folks bring back some nice memories. Villa Park, Franklin Park, South Trenton, and nearby Hamilton also mentioned. Use the search box atop the blog to find schools, churches, streets, stores, bars etc that you remember. Over 4000 posts and 3000 pics. Enjoy:)

Brings back good memories. Went to Harrison for 5th and 6th grade after Roebling School closed. We had very patriotic auditorium programs during holidays..not the politically correct crap that kids are indoctrinated with today. And we played dodge-ball at recess...and if you lost, you lost...you were a loser..period!! We didn't get awards for being 2nd or 3rd or last..I was a patrolboy on Grand and Beatty during my 6th grade year and would walk home for lunch many times....now that's from school on Genessee St to my house on Beatty St...how did I ever do it without a school bus?..moved my backside fast, that's how.
Do you remember teachers names
from this school?
Wow Mack...now your asking me to really think:) Will get back to you on this one....p.
Mrs Rich...went over to Harrison when Roebling closed. Was my 2nd grade teacher at Roebling school.
Kindergarten was Miss Foss.
First grade was Mrs Rich, for a while, then I moved to 1st/2nd grade with Mrs Goetz.
I think third grade was MRs Mcgregor (she lived in Allentown).
Fourth grade was Mrs. Emma Mohr.
I had Mrs McGregor again, in 5th grade. Finished up with Mrs Jones in 6th grade.
Principal was Cora E. Pennington.
