Once this was Slabicki's Food Market:)
A Blog about the Chambersburg area of Trenton NJ. The Burg we all loved and miss. If you were from the Burg I hope many of the pictures and lists and comments under them from good folks bring back some nice memories. Villa Park, Franklin Park, South Trenton, and nearby Hamilton also mentioned. Use the search box atop the blog to find schools, churches, streets, stores, bars etc that you remember. Over 4000 posts and 3000 pics. Enjoy:)

I was good friends with the Slabicky boys. Granny and Aunt K ran the store for years. Used to hang out after basketball practice at St. Stans. Had a big rivalty with St. Mary's and Holy Cross at this time. Most of us went to Cathedral High in downtown Trenton until it closed in 1972. Was a member of the last graduating class. Neighborhood was largely Polish, Hungarian and Slavish at the time. Store has since changed hands about 5 times since the mid 70's. Still live down the block from the store.
