If that scene is on corner of Hilton and Columbus Aves., it was called Ritzi's in 40's and 50's.

Ritzi's was a short walk away from our house on Revere. Ritzi's was at corner of Columbus and Hilton. A block away at the corner of Columbus and St. Francis was a small church/residence. Google identifies it as Knights of Columbus but it was a Protestant church back in the 50's/60's. Anyone remember what denomination it was back then? Attended kindergarten at Jr. 2 with son of minister (name of Thompson) 1955/56?

I remember the church and Thompson's. One of the sons was in school with me also. I do remember that us Catholic kids would hang around outside and enjoy the music during their services. There was also Lou's, a small convenience store on Revere. Back a few years was the Passerell Floral Shop owned by my father's brother.

Tom,

I guess Andrew was your uncle and Charles (Chip) was your cousin. We lived directly across the street from them on Revere. My brother Mike and Chip were always together. In fact the two of them got together for a day of fishing in the Keys two years ago. The church on Columbus had a large barn/stable/garage with four bays. Spent many days climbing around the lofts.

Mack,

You came up with that information quickly. Might I ask what you are using for a source. It sure would be helpful in my genealogy work.

Stephen,

Yes, Andrew was my uncle. Chip has been living in Virgina for past 25 years or so. He has three grown children and several grandchildren.

Wow...Mack, dad never threw anything out, God bless him. I would stop by and need a MLS book from 1 AD. He never knew exactly where they were, but he had 'em. Dave and I would be knee deep in "stuff" and then...there it was. Really miss that office.

I loved those ole MLS books, they
are gone now, gone with the old
office, but before the computer
age they were fantastic for prep
work on refis. I remember being
in a pile of mls books too:)
