1 Barnt Avenue, The Burg
Once upon a time this was Lambert Deli owned by
Marie Lambert according to my records:)
A Blog about the Chambersburg area of Trenton NJ. The Burg we all loved and miss. If you were from the Burg I hope many of the pictures and lists and comments under them from good folks bring back some nice memories. Villa Park, Franklin Park, South Trenton, and nearby Hamilton also mentioned. Use the search box atop the blog to find schools, churches, streets, stores, bars etc that you remember. Over 4000 posts and 3000 pics. Enjoy:)

Mack: Don't mean to change the subject on this post. There are so many pictures and when you remember something about another picture one has to go back to the older posts. Any way if you have something to add the older posts can be brought forward when a comment is made? I had one for Saxman about the candy stores, does he remember the small side street by Holy Cross School, there was a candy store call Albanowski's, Benny and his wife ran the store. He also collected payment for a Polish Insurance fund. My father and I went there to make the payments. Thanks, Joe
Hi Joe Z:)
I don't know how to move old
posts and don't even know if
that is possible to do.
However....
Feel free to post comments on any
subject anywhere on the site:)
All you folks are great and half
the value of the site is all of your rememberances:)
Thanks for anwering my question, I wasn't sure if that could be done. It's great remembering all this stuff, thanks for a great site.
Hey Joey Z......yes, I do remember Albanowski's...that small street is Arch St...I had a friend that lived there..in the middle of the block..big long covered porch..his name is Buddy Tweel.
Sax...Buddy Taweel, I believe that I just read he passed away. Used to tend bar at the old Delview on Rt 29. I worked at the State Library with his cousin Wayne Abraham from Center St. Probably knew him too, they were always together. Mack..thanks from me also, just remembering all of these places, the friends we were with, the music, the food, the restaurants, the bus rides, going "in town" shopping and the movies, the beautiful stores during the holidays...the're all gone now, only in our memories. But the good friends I've met or maybe re-met on your site, keep them all alive, and help me remember some good things that I'd forgotten.
To Joe Z,
Are you Joey Zepadoro from Chestnut Ave?
Bob Reck -rhreck@optonline.net
Anonymous...you scared me, I thought he was Joe Zop too, til I found out he is Polish.
Barb and Bob: No I'm not that Joe Z. As Barb said I'm Polish and my wife Roe is true Italian. My last name is Zuba.
Barb P....thanks for the info on Buddy. Do you know when he died?
I'd like to check-out the obit on-line.
Sax: I saw that obit, just go to the Trenton Times on-line, hit obits and you can pull up the name for 30 days. His name was Dennis Taweel, I think he was married one time to my cousin Susan, now that's were the name sinks in. Hope you can find.
Thanks Joe Z....my brother Lou told me he saw Buddy a couple of months ago.
