Does anyone remember the accident with two fire trucks on the corner of Hamilton and Chambers in front of St. Francis in the 60's. One of the fireman was killed and another one lost the use of his legs. Pete Del was killed and the other one was Bernie Ostrowski.
Petey Del Aversano was my cousin Anthony Del Aversano's cousin. We hung around together as kids and went to both Jr #4 and THS together. Pete married another classmate Peggy Mertz. I remember his funeral...what a tragedy.
I knew Petey Del, he lived on Genesee St. I think near the Gulfetti's. We all played together as kids.
The guy that lost use of his legs lived on Hamilton Ave. in Ham. Twp. His back yard and my back yard met when I lived on Brockton Rd. in Ham.

Did Paggy every remarry?

B.......Peggy did remarry. Last time I saw her was at our THS 40th reunion.
B.....Peggy's last name is Hayes.
I contacted her thru Classmates.com she has 2 children.
My father drove that Ladder 4 hook-and-ladder truck for years in the 70's/80's..
