Pizza Place Name on Whittaker ???

Does anyone remember the name of a Pizza place on Whittaker Avenue
that might have begun with a "C"? Rosemary says it had booths a bit
like Delorenzos on Hamilton Avenue and had a counter in the back.
It was near Roebling Avenue. Thank You :)
UPDATE: WE HAVE A WINNER: Schusters and it offered Mustard Pizza:)

Thank you for acknowledging my answer about Schusters with the mustard pies. I now live in South Carolina and none of the pizza shops here have ever heard of mustard pie. There is only one pizza place down here whereI will eat the pizza and it's in North Carolina. The owner's family is from Calabria and he moved here from New York but he never heard of mustard pie (it's a Trenton thing). So I make my own pizza when I want mustard pizza. I will always be a burger bit.

Well, looks like Dominicks it is..lol..Thanks for all your help, but...I never heard of a mustard pie. Could I have blocked it out because I don't like mustard..lol..

Ok, please tell me, what is a mustard pie...thanks..

Mustard pie is pizza with mustard in the pizza sauce. There is also a place in South Trenton (if it is still there, called The Sportsmen) that makes mustard pizza and boy is it good, but I guess you have to like mustard. You might like it, the mustard flavor doesn't overpower the tomato flavor.

OH YEAH......back in the day it was Dominick's and I spent a whole lot of time there. You used to walk up some stairs to get to the back...great juke box. I hung in the park down the street..don't remember the name.

Maybe someone can verify this, but I was told the playground was the old Washington school. I never did question it, but I lived right across the street, 111 Emory Avenue. I remember standing on the wooden swing and thinking I was so cool until I went to sit and slipped and fell. Thank God I didn't kill myself, but I remember mean kids laughing at me...lol..Oh the memories..lol..

Rosemary....you jogged my memory!
Yes, it was the old Washington School. Wish I could remember some of the kids that hung-out there...I think..Charlie Gebhart, Bobbie Gervasio...????

Names on that part of Emory Avenue I find in my records from the 60s:
Lavinaro/Gaglio/Chambersburg
Poultry/Faone/Risoldi/Pascucci/
Perlingiero/Horvath/Nicolai/Dimarcello/Benedetti/Santini.

I remember the poultry place and if I have my lineup right, next to that was Annette Pizza whose house was attached to my house. I don't remember all who lived there, but she was an older lady. Funny how living in the berg you called people by their first name. Didn't matter how old they were. When we moved to Hamilton, it was Mr. and Mrs. It seemed so formal; weird..lol On the other side of the market lived an older man whose name was Jimmy. He would throw water on us because we either made too much noise or rang his doorbell and ran..lol..Ok, so I was about 7 at the time..lol..I remember the corner on Whittaker was a store and on the corner of Roebling..hmmm..was it a dry clearner? I can't remember.

Yes:)
Well I live out in Mercerville
now, its nice but houses are spread
out thus folks arent mixed up together like we were in the Burg.
Folks called each other by their first name. And this is likely a
guy thing but Burg nicknames were
common and often amusing. Some of which I wouldnt write here :))
Even now if I am among Burg buds
its hello you scumbags with perhaps
a word in front of scumbags that
modifies it:)
Some nicknames: Lou with the Brew,
Goof, Pickle, Boagie Fats, Wrid,
Picassio, Ratbag, Joe the Whip,
Cow-Dog, Step and a Half:)
Note: This list is all guys nicknames.
The Burg was a colorful place!!

There was Tony Nose, Nunzie, Monk, Tony Macaroni, Yankee John, Paulie Boy (that's me) Patty Boy (Pat Spirito gunned down in Philly in a mob hit) Joey Zook, Joey Lip...most of us hung out at Kewpies on Chestnut/Kent or the tomatoe pie place on Chestnut/Elmer..all around the Deefee's Park.

Tony Macroini was my first boyfriend and I used to hang out with his sister Tess (Yankee John's widow) We all hung out at the Chestnut and Elmer pizza place. It was called Hamilton Pizza.
Does anyone remember Frankie Stilantano (not sure of the spelling). Also shot and killed and I think found in the trunk of a car at the Phila. Airport.

Hey Anonymous...
How about Linda Funari..Mousie..Rachael..Annette..
Marie Sargenti who lived on Hudson St by the water tower. I hung out at Hamilton's and Kewpie's across the street..and at Duke Malaci's, too. Frankie was shot and killed in Philly like my cousin Patty Boy Spirito. Before moving to NH in 1979 I lived on Hewitt St across from the Macaroni's..my ex-wife Sharon Tyler lived down the street from them on Hewitt. I know you?????

Saxman,

Do I know you?
I sure do remember Linda Funari, Mousie and Rachael (not sure about Annette, who is she?). I Could never forget Marie Sargenti, she was my best friend when we went to school. She use to hang out with my sister (they were the same age)I was a couple years younger and then she and I became really good friends. We lived on Mott St. Family name is Pierro.

Maybe Barbara Pierro?

Hey..can't remember Marie's boyfriends name..was it David Henry?? Annette was Bencivengo..lived down the block from Hamilton's on Elmer St..I was good friends with her brother Ralph when I worked for the State.
Geez, we must have on the corner at the same times!! Remember when all us guys had a "gang fight" with guys from Franklin Park?? Cops chased me, Nunz and Dave Henry down the alley by the coke factory. I spent alot of time on Elmer St..my mom's family Costanza lived at 216..aunt Capone live at 227 and aunt connie delaversano lived down behing the Italian People's Bakery..they bought her house when they expanded onto Elmer St. I also had a big crush on Mary Migliacci..

Saxman, (are you Paul Nagy?)

You guessed it, it is me, Barbara.
Marie's boyfriend was Tommy Rossotti (not sure of the spelling). She married Butchie (Joe)Salter then the divorsed. Not long after she passed away Tommy also passed away.
Thanks, I remember Annette and Ralph.
I remember the fight, in fact there was more than one fight, if I recall. Did you know my first husband, Joe Casey?
I'm now married to a great guy from PA.(Brian)but kept my madien name. Went back to it years ago. We have been married 10 years now, living in York, SC. We really like it here, but, what can I say about the food, I cook, thank God. There are things I miss about Jersey (tomatoes, good Italian bread and tasty cakes and last but not least WaWa coffee, LOL) When we drive back to visit my daughter the first thing I look for is a WaWa, and they have good ice cream.
My daughter is still in NJ with her family and my son lives in California with his family.
My sister Roseann is liviing in North Carolina, so at least I get to see her.
