I remember hearing the sound of Church Bells on Sunday Morning
in the Burg. I remember how safe the Burg was. Often I went
to Pats Diner or Monas on South Broad at times like 2 or 3
in the morning. I remember the Pats last call crew...young Burg
folks..Old Burg Folks...Bikers...all blended as the food was good
the service was good and everybody was hungry.
Few places were open that late so were glad these places
were there.

My husband was friends with Lou Nagy (new the family). My husband's grandma lived at 142 Home Avenue, so you are bringing up alot of memories for my husband.
Oh I forgot to mention..Pat's Diner had the best cheese omlette..!!!I haven't been to Trenton in over 10 years, but when I was there, I had to stop in Pat's. I joke about the greasy place and that is what made it so good..lol..they don't have diners like that here in Florida :(..lol..
Joe (my husband) wants to know if you knew Tom Lukowicz. He lived in the 700 block of Beatty.

Lou Nagy is my brother and he is living in Ewing Twp. We lived at 607 Beatty and I worked next door at Westinghouse Appliance when I was around 10 or 11 sweeping floors and cleaning up. There was a butcher shop there first when we moved to 607 in the late 40's..prior to that my parents owned the corner candy store on Beatty and Home...Carl Jablonski bought it from my parents...they had a daughter Mary who was murdered by a man who lived on Home Ave...she was a playmate friend of my sister Ermie.

I remember the Nagy name in
school (my school days 70s80s).
Way way way back in the day when
it was the Austro-Hungarian Empire
my great granddad Sobek Zoricak
decided that Europe was crazy
and there was gonna be a big
senseless war. So he brought the
family here IN 1913!!! The friggin
guy was Nostronamus as 1 year later
all hell broke loose in Europe.
God Bless America for taking him.
The best thing all of our Immigrant
ancestors did for us was jumping
on that boat !!
Saxman: Lou and I hung out when I was in high school, along with my cousin Tom Lukowica and Richie Zoladz who both lived on Beatty St. I lived on Brunswick Ave. but my Grandmother Orlowski lived on 143 Home Ave. Those were good days, I knew Ermie and both your parents. I had a cousin I believe you dated Maryann. The last time I saw Lou was at my Grandmother's funeral in the 1980s and I knew he moved to Tampa, Florida but did not know he moved back to Jersey. My wife is Rosemary on these posts, we now live in Florida. Tell Lou I said hello and give him my best.
Hey Joey Z.....I remember you guys the infamous Beatty Boys!! Jack and Jim Walsh, Gene Bailey>>
Lou says...remember bombing up to New Hope in the BelAire on Friday nights? Paul Riley buying you guys booze at the Hub?
Remember when Mary Jane slapped Lou across the face??
Give Lou a shout at LOUSAFR@msn.com he would love to hear from you...you can call him at 609-424-9670.
Now for a question from me....Mary Ann who??? I have been looking for Mary Ann Bednarek for years..can't find her.........paulie
Saxman: Sorry misspelled my cousins last name it was Lukowicz. You have the right Maryann Bednarek, she was married don't know if she still is, her married name is Yost, her husband's first name was Ed. Believed they lived in Ewing Twp. I haven't seen my relatives up there since my grandmother passed away. Thanks for Lou's e-mail and phone number, I'll zip a hello to him. Great talking and I'm sure we'll do it again. Are you still playing the sax. I can still remember that Saturday one summer when you took Lou, Tommy and I the Seaside for the day. That trip in your car I'll never forget.
Paul: Tried sending Lou and e-mail at the address you gave me, comes back as not deliverable, please check and see if it's the correct one. Thanks.
Joe:
the right one is: LOUUSAFR@MSN.COM
Thanks Paul, hope the info on Maryann is helpful.
This is before my time but according to a site on the net
there was a band from the Burg
called Jerry Evans & The Off-Keys?
I have no idea of the accuracy of
this item, just throwing it out there.
