Ice House was destination every Sunday prior to weekly family pilgrimage to Meteteconk or LBI. Someone had to "put the ice in the tub".

Metedeconk!
That big porch with chairs on
it. The crabbers at the dock.
We went there many times :)

Yep and if you got there early, you could have prime location with picnic table. Cabana rentals and boat rentals also available.

Wow, my family must have been out of the loop. Ice chest filled-on to Washingtons Crossing for a picnic or Wildwood for the day.

a lot of us local kids (hudson/swan/whittaker/roebling/emory) would loiter on the icehouse loading platform where you bought ice after business hours in the summer. the place was so cold that we had free air conditioning...OUTSIDE!!! i just remembered that... :)
