Down the street towards Beatty St was a hat store...don't remember the name but I did buy a great black hat there in the sixties and another time a beret!

Michael Andrew 1065 South
Clinton Avenue? It doesnt
list the name of the place.
I remember buying a hat there
too long ago.

Across the street was Whitey's...my father worked there and brought home the first 13" TV in the neighborhood. People came over to watch Milton Berle!

I forget the name of the hat

think I am wrong about the name being Frizzel's. My brother tells me that Frizzel's was the men's shop on the corner of Broad and Beatty across from Weinberg's department store. But then again, he has been wrong before!!:):)

I just learned from my sister, Ermie that the hat shop just closed not long ago.

Nope, Mike..brother is right. Frizells Hat Shop was on the corner of Broad and Beatty across from Weinbergs. My husband still has a hat in the original box (not much of a hat guy). There was another hat store on Clinton around the block from Rogers Funeral Home.

Saxman: Your brother is right, it was Frizzel's, the gentleman's name was Lee. Bought many a head warmer there. Tried to get a job there in high school on the work program, wound up at Frank's Big and Tall.
