We kids from the Burg would buy records from Broadway Record Center on South Broad Street and Cass Street. We could also get a ride or take the bus to Independence Mall in Hamilton and buy records at Big C. Big C had a 69 cent single of the week and this was often the choice. The Independence Mall also had Dawsons which sold Charlie Brown Books amongst other items. Thrift Drug which had great candy, Murphys which had lots of cheaper toys and had a place to eat. Dunhams was lame for kids as it had few toys: it was where a Mom would shop. There was also Arthur Treachers Fish & Chips across from the Mall, very good food (Hush Puppies!). Somewhere in my record collection still lurk 69 cent singles from Big C!!
