A Blog about the Chambersburg area of Trenton NJ. The Burg we all loved and miss. If you were from the Burg I hope many of the pictures and lists and comments under them from good folks bring back some nice memories. Villa Park, Franklin Park, South Trenton, and nearby Hamilton also mentioned. Use the search box atop the blog to find schools, churches, streets, stores, bars etc that you remember. Over 4000 posts and 3000 pics. Enjoy:)

2nd District Police station on South Broad St across from the Army & Navy store.
Jeeze, I forgot about the Army & Navy store, became the unfinished furniture store. Trenton Glassery and Import store down the block. You kids are really jogging my memory..thanks.
Barb: We forget all the stores on South Broad from Apex Lumber on down. I remember, but can't recall their names, there was a jewelry store, ethnic grocer, I remember smelling the pickles, a card shop, I can see it in my mind.
Joe Z..There used to be a metal diner next to the gas station on Broad and Dye, don't remember the name. Used office furniture store on other corner. Wooden Nickel, Kiddie Town, where we all got out school uniforms, the Import Store (that's still the name), Trenton Glassery, the jewelry store was next door..can't remember the name, another grocery store by the police station, was it Dobosz, great Kolbasz, Orsi (or something like that)Photographers, a small Hungarian restaurant, at Roebling & Broad, I think it was called Katrinas. Just random rememberances, no real order. Sax...you can jump in at any time.

ooops, it's getting late!
The used office furniture place on Broad & Dye was originally a department store. Brody's hardware down by the Fire House...Vanek's butcher shop next to Sammy's...Victory Furniture next block...Mellor Music..leather sales/repair....electronic repair place..jewelers...helen's tomatoe pies...eye doctor's office...army navy store.....
Anyone remember the little green dinosaurs we used to get at Stanley's gas station on Broad & Dayton st.
There also was a Jewish store where we got large pickles on broad near the old police station.
