Chambersburg Forever

I grew up in Chambersburg. I went to Franklin School, Junior#4 and
Trenton High. I was class of 1980. Times change and people and places change and
now The Burg is a different place. But The Burg of those years will live forever in
the memories of us who lived there.
Remember Eddies Donuts? Campis? Ginos? Atlantic Mills? Marsh Hobby Shop?
Nappys? Zips? Peps? Casino?
Remember Mayor Holland was called "Honest Art Holland"?
We played touch football and whiffleball in Franklin Park. It was 3 blocks from
our house and when we walked down the alley to go there, there was an Alaskan
Husky in someones yard that was a beautiful big dog.
I remember when the alleys were gravel and when there were crooked slate
sidewalks that would be very hot in summer when we walked barefoot on them.
Anyone else out there have Burg memories?
