Parking in the Burg was always an issue. It was a "first come first served"
thing. Often folks double parked when getting food from a store
or walking the kids or Grandparents back to the house.
When it snowed, you protected your parking space with garbage
buckets. Snow did make the Burg look pretty however.

You could park anywhere in the Burg, if you had a Black Cadillac or Lincoln. That would be bus stops, in front of somebodys driveway, fire hydrants, yellow curbs or in my case for a week at the parking meter next to Weinburgs on Beatty St in sight of the police station. Parked the car, went out with friends, got loaded, they took me home. Woke up the next morning, had no idea where the car was. Reported it stolen, found it a week later by accident, no money in the meter, no parking ticket.
