The Feast of Lights Back In The Day
The Feast of Lights Back In The Day
A picture so wonderful I had to post it. God Bless The Old Burg :))
Thank you for this wonderful picture Theresa DiMattia Dalanas.
I was at a lot of the feasts. Until I was about 30. My Mom and Aunt grew up in the burg. I spent time there with her at the Radice's on Chestnut Street. It's funny, because I was just telling a couple of friends about the feast just yesterday, and then found your blog today. :) Nice memories!!!
I grew up in the apartment building directly across from greccosin between Morris ave and ashmore . My grandfather owned the building . I rememeber the late 80s-90s and always seeing all the Lambos and Ferraris parked out front . I was a kid in heaven . I miss the food and the smells from the feast of lights every year . My pops sending me over to Ashmore tavern for a steak sandwich every friday night
And the fresh bagels every saturday night at the bakery , Times i didnt appriciate then , but would give anything to have back now .
I had cousins that lived on that street. The Longos miss the Burg would not step foot around there now all the good people gone. Peoples Bakery needs to move the hell out of there.
