A Blog about the Chambersburg area of Trenton NJ. The Burg we all loved and miss. If you were from the Burg I hope many of the pictures and lists and comments under them from good folks bring back some nice memories. Villa Park, Franklin Park, South Trenton, and nearby Hamilton also mentioned. Use the search box atop the blog to find schools, churches, streets, stores, bars etc that you remember. Over 4000 posts and 3000 pics. Enjoy:)

HI MAC...I'LL ALWAYS REMEMBER PAPA'S DURING THE TIME THEY WERE ON BUTLER STREET IN THE 1930'S AND 40'S. THERE WERE NOT MANY TOMATO PIE BAKERIES AROUND IN THOSE DAYS AND FOR 25 CENTS YOU'D GET A LARGE PIE. THE ONLY OTHER TOPPING WAS ANCHOVIES. DURING THE FEAST OF LIGHTS THEY ALSO FEATURED MUSSELS. MY GIRL FRIEND OFTEN REMINDED ME OF TREATING ME TO A PIE ON HER PAY DAY. GOD BLESS THOSE DAYS. BEST REGARDS.
Hi Ralph:)
I remember pies $2 and Rossiburgers 99 cents in the 1970s.
Todays pies are typically $12-15..the prices of earlier eras are always a fun subject:))
