The New Colonial Bakery, Hudson Street, The Burg

The New Colonial Bakery, Hudson Street, The Burg.
Once upon a time this was The New Colonial Bakery. The
sign still says it is but it was purchased by Italian
People's Bakery years ago.
For the purposes of this blog its really cool they left
the exterior as it was:)

Mack: Best little dinner rolls ever. Little torpedo rolls. Bought 2 bags on Thanksgiving morning and at night made sandwiches, turkey, stuffing, gravy and a slab of cranberry sauce. Good eating.

HI MAC...THE OWNERS OF NEW COLONIAL LIVED RIGHT NEXT DOOR TO THE BAKERY AND ONE OF THEM WAS THE GIOVENETTI GIRL, WHO WAS OUR NEIGHBOR WHEN WE LIVED ON BERT AVENUE, A LONG, LONG TIME AGO. BEST REGARDS.

Hi Joe & Ralph:)
I think New Colonial had the best rolls and when they ended I think Barbero's rolls became number one. Barbero's were the suppliers of rolls to Zip's Steakhouse so I got to sample their fine work literally hundreds of times over the years back in those days:)

No more Barbero's... Italian Peoples has ordered a new oven from Italy that will be installed in April.
