DeLorenzo's Tomato Pies, Hudson Street, The Burg
DeLorenzo's Tomato Pies, Hudson Street, The Burg Here is a delicious Tomato Pie that appears to be about done and ready to eat. Imagine it being put on your table right now:)))
Mack: If I may here's an answer to Anonymous question:
Trenton is known for their tomato pie. The second oldest tomato pie restaurant in the country is Papa's Tomato Pies that is located in Trenton, NJ. Trenton tomato pie is thin crust. In Trenton's version of tomato pie, the cheese (mozzarella) is placed on the pie first followed by the sauce. A few tomato pie eateries exist in Trenton's Chambersburg district, most famously Papa's, Delorenzo's on Hudson Street, and Delorenzo's on Hamilton Avenue.
Thats it Mack keep making me hungry for one of those pies. Nice photo.
ReplyDeleteI am curious to know why this was known as tomato pie in the Burg but as pizza everywhere else.
ReplyDeleteMust be a reason.
