This cool looking building was once The In & Out Social
Club according to the Trenton Historical Society.
I think that club was also located in a different place
at one time. The top of this building has the date 1892
on it:)

ReplyDeleteThe building was used as a warehouse for Pierce Van Lines back in the 50s.
Back then, all the large picture windows in the Burg all had paintings done by school kids. I remember these windows being dolled up by someone.
These paintings may have been a fund raiser for the PTAs - not sure. Tom Pass should remember for sure - this was just barely before my time.

According to various historical
records the In & Out was at 805
Hudson (near broad, near the bank,
on the other side of the alley over
there) from its start til at least
1929... its also there in the 50s and 1960s according to my records.
I guess this could have been the
IOSC in the 30s and 40s?? Or
Perhaps it was used for events
for the IOSC without ever being
its official home. We have a
mystery on our hands here
I just remembered (I think) -
ReplyDeletethe windows werre painted by kids fior Halloween to keep them from being soaped up (and whatever else) by the kids on Mischief Night.
Some kids in the neighborhood did more on Mischief Night than on Halloween. ;-)
I'm pretty sure the In & Out Club was over Kovac's Barber Shop on Hudson but that was a long time ago.
